Sponge Cake

Dessert

Do you need an excellent light dessert and you have way too many eggs?

YIELD: A WHOLE CAKE

COOK TIME

20 minutes

PASSIVE TIME

50 minutes

Ingredients

Part 1
1 cup (120g) Flour
1 cup (200g) Sugar
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 cup Water
1/4 cup Oil
10 Egg Yolks
Part 2
10 Egg Whites
1/2 tsp Cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Beat all of Part 1 together for 15 mins
  2. Beat all of Part 2 together for 10 mins
  3. Fold Part 1 into Part 2 into ungreased tube pan
  4. Bake for 50 mins at 350 degrees
  5. Invert immediately
  6. Eat!

Notes

  1. That's a lot of yolks to separate. Consider placing the raw egg in your hand and letting the whites slip out between your fingers
  2. Whipping cream and strawberries on top are great!
